Madrid, 16 January 2025.- Air Europa continues to expand the options for its customers to tailor the shopping experience to their needs. To this end, the airline has incorporated Hands In technology on its website to split the payment of tickets at the time of purchase either among several travellers or among several credit cards.
With the Group Payments system, users can divide the payment of the transaction between various people, personalising the amounts and making it easier to deal with this type of expense, even generating payment links. This option is particularly useful for group trips, achieving a conversion rate of 87.8% when the person responsible for the booking pays with the first card. On the other hand, it presents the Multi Card Payments option, which makes it possible to purchase a ticket using several different cards, which also makes it easier to purchase the ticket. This alternative is also available when the user is alerted that the transaction has been rejected if insufficient funds are detected, which activates a pop-up window that allows the user to repeat the process using two cards instead of one. So far, the conversion rate is 95.1% when the first card payment is made.
The technology implemented on Air Europa's website multiplies the possibilities for users to afford the cost of booking, bringing the ability to travel even closer to everyone by offering options that better suit each passenger's circumstances. The next phase of the project also reaffirms the company's commitment to innovation, as it plans to add new payment alternatives, starting with PayPal, to allow travellers to combine this system with credit and debit cards both when making payments in instalments and when deferring payments.
‘We are very pleased to have these solutions in our online shopping process. They are a further step in the line we have set ourselves in helping the user to decide how they want their trip to be and which is encompassed in our campaign slogan ‘You decide’. The possibility of splitting payments between several people or cards makes shopping easier and further reduces the barriers to flying,’ says Yago Casasnovas, Head of Payments, Fraud Prevention and Distribution at Air Europa.
'We are delighted with the results Air Europa can achieve by implementing Hands In solutions natively in its payment process. Our goal now is to continue to help the company deliver an excellent customer experience with other split payment innovations that can contribute to this goal', said Samuel Flynn, founder and CEO of Hands In.
