Hands In

Stop Making One Customer The Bank

Group Travel Isn't A Niche Use Case

People are travelling together. The way they pay hasn't caught up.

One Person Becomes The Bank

One person makes the booking. One person puts the full amount on their card. And one person carries it for everyone else.

Thousands Upfront. Sometimes Tens Of Thousands.

Then comes the chasing — messages, reminders and spreadsheets to get everyone else's share back.

38%

of group travellers had experienced not receiving money owed from a group trip.

For Merchants, It's A Checkout Problem

When one person has to carry the full financial burden, the payment itself becomes a barrier to completing the purchase.

A Missed Opportunity

The group has agreed on the trip. But if one person can't put the entire amount on their card, the merchant has left them to solve the payment problem alone.

The Booking Doesn't Need To Be Paid For By One Person

It needs to be paid for by the people actually travelling.

Hands In

That's Where Hands In Comes In

With Group Payments, multiple people contribute towards the same booking — each participant paying their share directly or via a payment link.

The Trip Is Shared. So Why Shouldn't The Payment Be?

How It Works

Split the cost of the basket with participants in a group

1. Select Pay As A Group At Checkout

The lead booker will select the group split payment option at checkout to create a group payment.

2. Add Payment Details & Pay

Once you have created a group, enter your payment details and click pay to contribute your share of the group payment.

3. Share Invite With Others

Share the payment link with the others so they can pay too. You can share via URL, SMS, email, QR code and social platforms.

4. Each Member Joins & Pays Their Share

After the total amount has been made up, then the group payment will complete and you will be redirected back to the merchant.

Pay On Behalf Of Others

We support partial payments, allowing the lead booker or group members to pay on behalf of others.

Pay as a Group screen showing €249.13 of €498.26 paid, with a group members list of two travellers marked Paid and Not Joined.

Flexible Payment Allocation

Group members can contribute different amounts, making it easier to manage uneven payment splits across the booking.

Schools, Sports Teams & Student Groups

Let parents, players, or students each pay their share, with no more chasing payments.

Corporate Travel Groups

Each traveler settles their own portion, cutting down on manual reconciliation.

Weddings & Celebrations

Bridal parties and guests can each cover their share, making big-ticket bookings easier to book.

Gen Z & Millennials

Reach younger travelers who can't put a full booking on one card, and convert trips you'd otherwise lose.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our group payments product.

Can’t find the answer you’re looking for? See all questions or please reach out to our team.
Will payment reminders be sent?

We send out automated payment reminders to everyone in a group via email and SMS. Additionally, all participants can send reminders to others in the transaction. The schedule for automated reminders depends on the length of the booking window.

Can a lead buyer kick or remove a group member? If so, how?

Yes. The owner of the group payment — marked with a yellow star next to their name — can remove members from the group dashboard. Click the dropdown arrow below the member you want to remove and confirm.

How does someone receive an invite to a group payment?

Each customer added into the group will receive an email and/or SMS with the invite link for them to join the payment.

Any member of the group payment also has access to invite others to join via a URL, email, SMS & QR code.

How long is the group checkout time?

You control this, and the limit depends on how your auth and/or capture process is. Instant capture has no maximum, so the checkout can stay open indefinitely. Delayed capture is capped at 7 days (168 hours), since that's how long an authorization can be held before it expires.

There's no minimum, but we recommend allowing enough time for the whole group to join and pay their share

How are group payments captured?

As each person agrees to pay, we authorise the amount for each customer in the group respectively and freeze the funds in their account. Once the group has made up the total, the funds are captured from each payment method to be settled.

What happens to the money when someone cancels a payment?

If someone cancels their payment, then the transaction amount will no longer be frozen and the customer’s funds will be released and made available back in the customer’s account. No one will be charged.
