Hands In, a payment solutions company enabling split payments across multiple cards, payers, and payment methods, has selected PCI Proxy to support the security and tokenisation layer of its platform.

The collaboration is already live through Hands In’s work with Air Europa, where PCI Proxy’s tokenisation capabilities support split payments at checkout.

By integrating PCI Proxy's Universal Token Vault and 3D Secure solution into its infrastructure, Hands In ensures that sensitive payment data is protected throughout the split payment flow. Tokenisation also allows payment credentials and authentication data to be reused across multiple payment attempts and endpoints, which is important for split payments and decline recovery.

In the case of Air Europa, this setup has delivered clear commercial results:

  • Millions generated in incremental sales (with close to 50% coming from insufficient-fund declines that would previously have been lost)
  • 5x higher average order value for multi-card payments
  • Up to 10x higher average order value for group payments

These results show that tokenisation plays a direct role in improving payment performance, not just meeting security requirements.

Hands In manages the orchestration and reconciliation of split payments at checkout, reducing operational complexity for merchants while helping recover revenue lost due to insufficient funds and card declines.

PCI Proxy enables organisations to build and control their own card payment flows while reducing compliance burden and avoiding provider lock-in. Its platform includes Token Vault, Digital Wallets, 3D Secure, Network Tokenisation, BIN Lookups, and other modules that can be used alongside existing payment setups.

We built Hands In to make split payments simple and commercially valuable for merchants,” said Samuel Flynn, Co-Founder and CEO at Hands In. “PCI Proxy was the right choice to handle the security layer. It allows us to focus on delivering the features our merchants care about, and we’ve already seen the impact of that with Air Europa.
Our mission at PCI Proxy is to remove the complexity around payment security so companies can focus on growing their core business,” said Emre Iliksu. “Hands In is changing how payments are made at checkout by enabling multiple cards, payers, and payment methods. This allows teams to focus on building payment experiences that perform.
